Title: Jatake Station: Indonesia’s New KRL Station Set to Open

New JabodetabekKRL Station, Jatake, Targeted for December⁢ Launch

Jakarta, ‍December​ 5, ‍2025 -​ Indonesia’s minister of ⁢Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, announced Friday that ​the ⁣newly constructed ‌Jatake Station on the ⁢Jabodetabek KRL ​line ⁢is on track to ⁢begin operations this December. The station, located between Cicayur Station and Parung Panjang Station, represents a key component of the region’s Transit Oriented​ Progress⁤ (TOD) initiative‍ aimed at easing highway congestion.

Construction of the 3,000 m2, three-story station ⁤- built on a 2,435 m2 plot at KM 37+045 of the ​Tanah Abang – Rangkasbitung route – is complete and⁢ currently​ undergoing testing. “The construction of the​ station ⁢has been completed.‍ we are currently carrying⁤ out ⁣the station testing⁣ process.‍ We‍ hope that this December we can ‍operate Jatake Station. ⁣Hopefully there will be no changes,” Minister Dudy stated.

While a specific date has not yet been revealed, the Ministry is working with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to finalize operational readiness, including required ⁢permits and trial runs. KAI vice ⁤President of Public Relations, Anne ⁢Purba, confirmed the need for​ these ⁢trials and ‌approvals before public ⁢access is granted. “If you operate a station, ⁢there must be a trial first, ⁤there will ⁣be permits. Later, if everything has​ been ‌completed, including the ‌operational engineering, we will also continue ‍to update it with DJKA,” Anne⁢ explained on September 17, 2025.

Jatake Station is ⁣projected to accommodate 20,000⁣ passengers daily and will feature passenger facilities, a commercial zone, KAI office space, and parking for cars, motorcycles, ⁣and bicycles. The addition ⁣of​ Jatake Station expands⁣ the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung KRL route to ‍serve Tanah Abang, ‍Palmerah, Kebayoran, Pondok Ranji, ‌Jurang Mangu, Sudimara, Rawa Buntu, Serpong, Cisauk, Cicayur, Parung Panjang, Cilejit, Daru, Tenjo, Tigaraksa, ​cikoya, Maja, Citeras and Rangkasbitung.
