Medical Aid Arrives in Palestine from India, Facilitated by Jordan

Sada News – The Palestinian Ministry of Health received a significant shipment of medical aid from the indian government today, Sunday, delivered through the Hashemite Jordanian Charitable Association and coordinated with the Indian and Jordanian embassies in Palestine.

Minister of Health, Majed Abu Ramadan, highlighted the importance of the aid, stating it comprises forty tons of essential medicines and supplies – a crucial boost to the Palestinian health sector. The shipment includes vital medications for cancer patients,antibiotics,pain relievers,asthma treatments,anesthesia supplies,operating room necessities,sterilization equipment,and dialysis supplies,addressing urgent needs across the West Bank,Gaza Strip,and Jerusalem.

Ramadan emphasized IndiaS ongoing commitment to Palestine, extending beyond medical assistance to include strategic projects like the planned Indian Hospital in Jenin Governorate, funded by the Indian government. He also expressed gratitude to Jordan for it’s consistent support of the health sector and the hashemite Jordanian Charitable Organization’s role in facilitating the delivery of the aid to Ministry of Health warehouses in Nablus.

The Minister underscored the critical timing of this support, noting the unprecedented health crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip due to ongoing conflict, the rising number of casualties, and the severe shortage of medical resources. He also referenced attacks on health facilities and personnel in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Ministry continues to actively engage with international health organizations to advocate for the urgent passage of medical supplies into the Gaza Strip, appealing to authorities to allow access.

Jordanian Ambassador to Palestine, Issam Al-Badour, affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to facilitating aid delivery through the King Hussein Bridge, overseen by the Hashemite Jordanian Charitable Organization.

Indian Ambassador to Palestine, Mahima Sikand, reiterated India’s continued support for the Palestinian people and its dedication to alleviating their suffering, particularly within the health sector. She expressed hope that the aid would reach the Gaza Strip to address the pressing needs of patients there.
