Iberia to Launch Nonstop Flights From Newark to Madrid
NEWARK, NJ – Iberia will begin offering nonstop flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Madrid (MAD) starting in Spring 2026, expanding travel options for New Jersey and New York area passengers. The new service will operate year-round,providing a direct connection to the Spanish capital and beyond.
This marks a notable expansion for Iberia in the U.S. market and adds competition to the existing Newark-to-Madrid route currently served by United Airlines. The new flights cater to both leisure and business travelers, offering a convenient gateway to Europe and Iberia’s extensive network of destinations throughout Spain, Africa, and Latin America.
United airlines already flies nonstop from Newark to Madrid and plans to serve five other Spanish cities next year, including new service to Santiago de Compostela. Travelers can book Iberia flights using a variety of points and miles programs. American Airlines AAdvantage members can redeem miles on Iberia partner flights. Additionally, points can be transferred from numerous credit card partners to Iberia’s Club programme or other airlines sharing the Avios loyalty currency, such as British Airways, Aer Lingus, Finnair, and Qatar. Avios can be seamlessly transferred between these programs.
