Golden globe-winning actress Sally Kirkland is receiving hospice care following injuries sustained in a fall, her daughter confirmed to TMZ. Teh 84-year-old,known for her titular role in the 1987 film “Anna,” suffered rib and foot injuries,as well as cuts and bruises,after an unattended fall in the shower.
Kirkland’s career spans decades, encompassing a 1987 Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe win for “Anna.” Beyond that acclaimed performance, she appeared in notable films like “JFK” and “Bruce Almighty,” and was a fixture in Andy Warhol‘s artistic circle, even appearing in his film “The 13 Most Beautiful Women.” A longtime participant in New York’s avant-garde theater scene during the 1960s, Kirkland leaves behind a legacy of diverse and impactful work.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with her care. According to her daughter, a new film about kirkland’s life, titled “Sallywood,” is scheduled for release tomorrow on Amazon Prime.
