Affinity Suite Now Available Permanently Free, Consolidated into Single app
BREMERHAVEN, GERMANY – Serif has announced a notable shift in its Affinity software model, making the entire Affinity suite – previously comprised of separate apps for photo editing, vector graphics, and page layout – permanently free. The tools are now combined into a single, all-in-one application available for download.
This move represents a major change in the creative software landscape, offering professional-grade image and vector editing, and layout design capabilities without ongoing subscription costs. While core app updates will remain free,future expansions of functionality may introduce paid features,notably those related to emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
The integrated Affinity app also introduces direct asset transfer capabilities to Canva, potentially driving users toward Canva’s paid subscription tiers for access to features like generative AI, background removal, and expanded content libraries. Serif states that updates to the core app will remain permanently free, though future increases in functionality might potentially be subject to payment.
