The Game’s ‘F3’ Pickup Line & Diamond Profile Pic: What’s Next?

March 21, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Compton rapper The Game announced the retirement of his widely-mocked Instagram direct message pickup line, “F3,” on Thursday, March 19, 2026, following a wave of screenshots shared online exposing his repeated apply of the phrase. The announcement, posted to his official Instagram account, read, “F3 is now officially retired 💀✌🏾 …….. We shot, we scored.. We had a good run… on to bigger n better things now.”

The “F3” tactic, which involved initiating conversations with women on Instagram with the cryptic phrase before revealing, “Oh sh*t… my bad, I saw a snack & thought this was a vending machine,” drew criticism after screenshots circulated on social media, as reported by Complex. While some commenters defended the rapper, others labeled the approach “corny.”

The Game’s announcement included a playful nod to a potential successor, adding, “F4 coming soon [laughing emojis].” The post garnered reactions from fellow artists, including Ludacris, who responded with a series of laughing emojis. Fans also chimed in, with one user joking, “Ayo [laughing emoji] unplug the whole vending machine atp.”

The rapper’s move comes amid a shift in his public persona regarding romantic pursuits. Previously known for a high-profile dating history, The Game has recently focused on connecting with potential partners through Instagram’s direct messaging feature. The “F3” line, though, proved largely unsuccessful, prompting its swift retirement.

Beyond the pickup line controversy, The Game also sparked speculation regarding a possible collaboration with Drake. He updated his Instagram profile picture to a diamond symbol, an icon recently adopted by several individuals affiliated with Drake, according to observations reported by various social media outlets. However, the diamond profile picture has also been adopted by others, including football player Johnny Manziel, tempering expectations of an imminent partnership.

Despite the mixed reception to his dating strategy, The Game appears to be maintaining a positive outlook, with supporters encouraging him to continue experimenting. One fan wrote, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it bro, just go to a different playing field [laughing emoji],” while another suggested, “Do your thing OG, fisherman uses the same rod to catch different fish.”
