The U.S. Men’s Hockey Team is facing Sweden in a quarterfinal match at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, according to reports from Santaguilia Ice Arena.

This contest follows a dominant performance by the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team, which secured a spot in the gold-medal game with a 5-0 victory over Sweden on Monday, February 16th, at the same venue. The U.S. Women’s team will now compete for gold against Canada on Thursday, February 19th, at 1:10 p.m. Local time, broadcast on USA Network.

The U.S. Women’s team has been particularly strong defensively throughout the tournament, going five full games without allowing a goal – a record for any women’s or men’s team in Olympic history. They have outscored opponents 31-1, conceding only one goal in their opening match against Czechia. Five different players scored for the U.S. In their semifinal win against Sweden, highlighting the team’s depth.

Prior to the quarterfinal match, the U.S. Women’s team had already defeated Canada 5-0 in preliminary play on February 10th. The potential for a rematch looms, contingent on Canada winning its semifinal game against Switzerland.
