RUTHERFORD, NJ - Comedian Steve Hofstetter will perform at Bananas Comedy Club on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th, 2024, at 801 Rutherford Avenue in Rutherford, New Jersey.
Hofstetter’s career spans radio and stand-up, beginning with hosting “Four Quotas” on Sirius Satellite Radio for two seasons. He then syndicated his “Sports Minute (Or So)” to over 170 radio stations and 30 newspapers.
A prolific recording artist, Hofstetter has released five comedy albums.”Cure For the Cable Guy” reached #20 on Billboard’s comedy charts, while his third album, “Dark Side of the Room,” pioneered a pay-what-you-want model. his fourth album featured a full hour of improvised material, and his fifth topped iTunes’ comedy charts.
Hofstetter maintains a rigorous touring schedule, performing over 100 college shows and dozens of club dates annually. He previously held notable online followings, reaching 200,000 friends on Facebook and 400,000 on MySpace.
Before focusing on comedy, hofstetter’s writing career began at age 15. At 18,he co-founded the website “sports Jerk of the Week,” which was featured in publications including USA Today’s Baseball Weekly,Sports Illustrated,and CNN. He later spent a year as head of web content for the New York Yankees, during their 2000 World Series-winning season.
While an undergraduate at Columbia University, Hofstetter wrote for the Columbia Daily Spectator and contributed to Maxim, ESPN, and Sports Illustrated for Kids. He syndicated his column in several newspapers after a summer writing for those publications.
