Eschwege, Germany - December 25, 2024 - Young volunteers in teh Werra-Meissner district are gaining the skills to revitalize club outreach through engaging social media content, thanks to a workshop led by media professional Sylwester Pawliczek. The “Engagement Reporter” project, funded by the state foundation “Together in Hesse,” equipped participants with the knowledge to create captivating Instagram Reels – short videos designed to grab attention within the crucial first three seconds.
Organized by Karina Glahn from the Coordination Center for Citizen Engagement – the volunteer service point within the district administration – the workshop focused on identifying target audiences, selecting compelling spokespeople within clubs, and mastering video production techniques like unusual camera angles, editing, and the strategic use of music and effects.
Participants, even those with limited experience, actively practiced shooting video clips and brainstorming content ideas. A key outcome of the program is encouraging clubs hesitant to embrace social media beyond static posts to explore dynamic video formats. The workshop provided practical guidance on editing programs and techniques to transform raw footage into polished, shareable content.
“In three seconds, the viewer has to be hooked,” highlights the importance of immediate engagement emphasized throughout the training. The “Engagement Reporter” initiative aims not only to modernize club communication but also to actively involve young members in shaping the future of their organizations.
