In his morning conference this Monday, after a break for Holy Week, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, affirmed that by the end of April the entire population over 60 years of age will have received, at least, the first dose of the antidote. .
“This month all older adults are vaccinated, even with one dose. That gives me peace of mind because it is the most vulnerable population (…) it will help us because if a new strain or wave of infections appears, it will catch us with vaccinated older adults. ”, He said.
In the same meeting with the media, the president assured that they have told him that it is not essential that he be vaccinated, but he will do so this week, although privately.
“At first, two (doctors) of them had told me to get vaccinated to reinforce my antibodies, but I wanted to ask others: those who treated me directly when I was infected. They reviewed my studies and concluded that I have enough antibodies and that it is not essential that I get vaccinated. (…) Two doctors had told me yes and the doctor who treated me told me: ‘not because he has enough antibodies and it is not necessary. It can wait’. He even raised me for two months, which I do consider a lot and the time should be reviewed, but I have no problem of contagion or of infecting anyone. “, He mentioned.
