Shanghai-London Screen Industry Forum: Collaboration and Global Stories

ShanghaiLondon Screen⁢ Industry Forum Bolsters UK-China Collaboration with Focus on ⁢Global Storytelling

SHANGHAI⁣ – The third annual Shanghai-London Screen Industry Forum ​concluded this week, ⁣reaffirming its role as a ‍pivotal platform for strengthening creative ties between the United Kingdom and China. Hosted by⁤ the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism (Radio and Television),​ with support from the UK’s Department for ‌Business and Trade and institution by phoenix TV, the forum ‌spotlighted new avenues for collaboration in film and⁣ television production.

This year’s event featured keynote ⁤speeches, presentations,⁣ trailer screenings, and panel discussions centered on the evolving landscape ​of international co-production and the art⁤ of crafting‍ globally ⁤resonant narratives. Attendees included Rupert Daniels, Director of Services at the UK’s Department⁣ for ⁤Business and Trade; Adrian Wootton OBE, CEO of ⁤Film London &‍ British Film⁣ Commission; LI Liyan, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the UK; YOU⁣ Haiyang, Level II Counsellor and Division Director at Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism; YIN Xin, Vice President of Shanghai Media Group; and Jasmine Pang, Director of European Affairs at Phoenix ⁢TV, who chaired the forum.

Industry leaders shared insights during keynote addresses, including Robi Stanton, EVP and General Manager, Anz & Asia at BBC Studios; Amanda Halliday, Director of Special Projects⁤ at Pinewood Group; Jason ZHANG, Founder and Producer of Stellar Pictures; FU Wenjie,⁢ Executive Vice ⁢President of⁣ Xixi Pictures; and Roy LU, General Manager of Linmon International. A fireside chat with acclaimed Chinese actor ZHANG Luyi provided a perspective on ‍creative development​ and cross-cultural storytelling.

Presentations and screenings from Stellar ‍pictures,Huace⁣ Croton ​Media,Tencent video,bilibili,and XG ⁢Entertainment showcased upcoming projects and potential co-production​ opportunities. A panel discussion, how too ‍Tell Global Stories across East and ⁢West, ⁤explored the challenges and opportunities‍ of creating content with international ‌appeal, featuring Rosemary Reed of POW ⁤TV Studios, Jiella Esmat of 8‌ Lions, and Cedric ⁢Behrel of Trinity CineAsia.

The Shanghai-London ​screen ‍Industry Forum aims to foster innovation, partnership, and cultural exchange between China and the UK, solidifying its position as a key annual event for the global screen industry.
