Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has larger battery and expanded screen
Samsung Electronics launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 alongside its latest foldable devices, introducing a refined hardware package that addresses several battery and design criticisms leveled against its predecessor, tabletowo.pl reported.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Gets Larger Battery and Brighter Screen
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 measures 47.4 × 47.1 × 10.77 mm, making it slightly thinner than the first-generation model’s 12.1 mm thickness, while weighing 61.5 grams compared to the older version’s 60.5 grams. Root-Nation.com noted the watch case dimensions slightly differently at 47.4 × 47.1 × 10.7 mm. The device incorporates a larger 800 mAh battery, a notable upgrade over the previous 590 mAh capacity. The screen size has also expanded from 1.47 inches to 1.52 inches, reaching a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, up from 3,000 nits on the original model. Protection is handled by sapphire glass across a Super AMOLED panel featuring a 498 × 498 resolution.
Design tweaks focus on daily wearability. Tabletowo.pl reported that the metal loop on the previous marine band, which frequently caught on laptop edges during work, has been replaced with rubber loops. Durability ratings include 10 ATM water resistance, IP69K dust and water protection, MIL-STD-810H military durability certification, and an EN13319 certification for diving down to 40 meters—a standard absent on the first-generation Ultra.
Snapdragon Wear Elite Processor Powers New Software Suite
Powered by a 3-nm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor featuring five cores, the smartwatch runs on Wear OS with Samsung’s One UI 9.0 Watch interface, replacing the Exynos W1000 chip used previously. Internal storage stands at 64 GB, paired with 2 GB of RAM. The software suite includes full access to Google Play, enabling direct downloads for Google Pay, Strava, and offline Spotify usage. Users can interact with Google Gemini by holding down the top physical button and make phone calls directly from the wrist using an eSIM configuration, supported by built-in speakers and microphones.

Health Tracking and GPS Accuracy
Tabletowo.pl noted that GPS tracking demonstrated quick connection times, matching routes closely with competing devices like the Huawei Watch GT 7 during extended tests.
Battery performance showed measurable gains during testing. With Always-on Display (AoD) enabled, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 lasted up to 3.5 days under standard usage conditions involving periodic heart rate checks and sleep tracking. Charging speeds also improved significantly, with fast charging reaching up to 40% in about 30 minutes using a wireless charging module with USB-C.
Retail Price Starts at 3,250 Złoty
Root-Nation.com reported that the official retail price for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is set at 3,250 złoty, though market alternatives can be found starting around 2,150 złoty. The package includes the smartwatch, a Marine Band strap, and a USB-C wireless charging module without an included power adapter.
