Amazon Cuts Price of Samsung ViewFinity S65TC Ultrawide Monitor in Half

Amazon is selling the 34-inch Samsung ViewFinity S65TC ultrawide monitor for 50 percent off, reducing the price to $399.99 following the end of Prime Day, according to a report by pcworld.com.

Samsung ViewFinity S65TC Offers Ultrawide Display with Thunderbolt 4

The Samsung ViewFinity S65TC moves away from standard 16:9 1080p form factors by offering a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio at a 34-inch diagonal. The panel utilizes an aggressive 1000R curvature designed to match the natural field of view of the human eye. Connectivity features include a Thunderbolt 4 port capable of delivering 90 watts of power to charge a connected laptop. The chassis also functions as a hardware dock, allowing users to plug peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and external storage drives directly into the monitor to interface with the host computer. The unit also includes a built-in KVM switch, enabling a single keyboard and mouse set to control both a laptop and a desktop PC.

Performance Limitations and Panel Caveats

pcworld.com notes several operational limitations associated with the hardware. While the display supports HDR10 for enhanced contrast in video playback, the panel lacks the color accuracy required for professional content creation. The 100Hz refresh rate combined with a VA panel does not meet the performance thresholds required for high-end gaming. The steep 1000R screen curve introduces geometric distortion on straight lines, making the monitor unsuitable for precision artwork or CAD drafting tasks.
