Samsung Android XR Smart Glasses Leak: Specs, Styles, and Shipping Date
Samsung is preparing to ship its first Android XR smart glasses in November 2026, targeting a market weight of 41 grams. The hardware, which has been under development alongside Google, features the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage, according to a recent leak.
The glasses are designed to offer nine hours of battery life, with an additional 72 hours provided by the charging case. Imaging capabilities include a 12MP camera capable of recording 3K video at 30fps. The devices also incorporate two speakers and four microphones, the latter of which will be used to interact with Gemini.
Samsung Partners with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster
Samsung has partnered with eyewear brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster to offer a wide range of aesthetic choices. Warby Parker is set to release three frame designs: the rounded Alden, the square-ish Reid, and the cat-eye-ish Wren. These will be available in colorways such as Jet Black, Pine, and Saddle, with options for both clear lenses and sunglasses.
Gentle Monster is contributing six frame styles, including various square and oval shapes. These frames offer a broader color palette, including cream, burgundy, light-gray, and pale lilac. According to reports, Gentle Monster plans to offer prescription lens options for its models. In total, the collaboration aims to provide a high volume of style combinations for users.
Full Integration Requires Samsung Flagship Phone and Watch
While the glasses will provide basic functionality across both Android and iPhone devices, full integration is reserved for the Samsung ecosystem. Certain features require a Samsung flagship phone running One UI 9, based on Android 17, and a Galaxy Watch running Wear OS 7. The leaked details suggest that Galaxy Watch owners will be able to use their watches and glasses in tandem, provided a Samsung flagship phone acts as a bridge between the devices.
While official pricing has not been confirmed, the glasses are expected to be sold through Samsung Experience Stores in the U.S. and via the respective websites of Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. The 41-gram weight of the hardware represents a significant reduction compared to the approximately 51.5 grams of the Meta Ray-Ban Gen 3 glasses.
