Springfield Area Restaurants Undergo Health inspections, Several Cited for Violations

Springfield, MO – august 1, 2025 – A recent round of health inspections across the springfield area revealed a mixed bag of results for local eateries, with several establishments requiring follow-up actions due to violations.While some businesses passed with flying colors,others were flagged for issues ranging from improper food temperatures to sanitation concerns.

Key Findings from recent Inspections:

Sonic Drive-In (2935 E. Sunshine St., Springfield) received a “permitted with re-inspection” result following a July 29 routine inspection. The establishment was cited for two priority violations: electro freeze vanilla mix found at 49 degrees, which was corrected on-site by discarding the product and providing education, with a commitment to repair the machine. Additionally, multiple dishes on a clean dish wire rack were observed with visible debris, leading to their relocation to a three-vat sink and further education. A non-priority violation involving cardboard in the French fry freezer was also corrected on-site.

springfield Golf and Country Club (3106 E. Valley Water Mill Road, Springfield) also requires a re-inspection after a July 24 routine inspection. A priority violation was noted, with several possibly hazardous food items found above 41 degrees in the prep cooler. These items were voluntarily discarded, and staff received educational guidance.

The Roost (KKCJ LLC) (2510 S. State Highway MM, Republic) was permitted with a re-inspection on July 29. The inspection identified a priority violation where no sanitizer was present in the dish machine. The establishment will be sanitizing in a three-vat sink until the machine is operational.

The Grotto (301 E. Battlefield Road, Springfield) was noted as “active” following a July 28 re-inspection, with all previous cold-holding violations reportedly corrected and no violations cited.

Valencia1920 (Habaneros) (2530 S. State Highway MM,Republic) also received an “active” result on July 29,with a priority item corrected and no violations noted.

Walmart Supercenter No. 179 Deli (3520 W. Sunshine St.,Springfield) passed its July 28 routine inspection with an “active” result and no violations.

Snowie Addiction LLC (103 W. Old Mill Road,Fair Grove) had a July 26 routine inspection resulting in an “active” status with no violations noted.

The Gathering Place (1332 E. Republic Road, Springfield) was also found to be “active” with no violations cited following its July 25 inspection.

* A July 29 re-inspection of an unnamed establishment at 85216063007 showed an “active” result, with the facility having been cleaned and miscellaneous equipment removed. No violations were noted during this follow-up.

These inspections are part of ongoing efforts to ensure food safety and public health within the Springfield community. Restaurants are encouraged to maintain rigorous sanitation practices and proper food handling procedures to prevent violations and ensure the well-being of their patrons.
