Paris: Former Reality TV Star Targeted in €100,000 Burglary
Marlène Duval, 45, a former contestant on French reality television programs, was the victim of a burglary in the 16th arrondissement of Paris in early September, resulting in an estimated loss of €100,000 in luxury jewelry adn accessories.
Duval discovered the break-in on September 9th upon returning from a trip abroad, finding her front door had been forced open. A thorough search of the apartment revealed the theft of several high-end handbags from brands like Chanel, and also jewelry from Cartier and Rolex.
Investigators from the first judicial police district are currently investigating the incident, having collected forensic evidence from the scene. Police are also reviewing telephone records, video surveillance footage, and conducting neighborhood inquiries.
Authorities believe Duval was targeted due to her public profile and online presence, placing her within a cohort of celebrities frequently victimized by organized theft rings.
Beyond her reality TV appearances on shows like “Les Gladiatrices,” “Blondes vs Brunes” (2004), and “Les Anges de la realitycle” (2011), Duval has since established herself as a singer and entrepreneur, founding companies @Bymarlenedval and @marlenedvalbeaute. She recently released a new single, “L’Embène-moi,” and continues to make public appearances. She is also known for undergoing cosmetic surgery and maintaining a luxurious lifestyle.
