Razer Announces Mako Desktop Gaming Speakers with Chroma RGB
Razer has expanded its gaming audio lineup with the introduction of the Mako desktop speaker series, featuring compact designs, fuller sound profiles, and Razer Chroma RGB lighting across two separate models, according to announcements from the company and Gamers.at.
The hardware manufacturer released two configurations under the Mako banner: the primary Mako model and the more streamlined Mako X. According to Barrie Ooi, Head of PC Gaming Division at Razer, the product line addresses player demand for extensive audio in space-saving builds. Every element, from custom-tuned full-range drivers to virtual surround processing, was engineered to bring battlestations to life without adding physical clutter on the desktop.
Razer Mako Features 2.1 Sound and Dedicated Subwoofer
The standard Razer Mako operates as a 2.1-channel configuration, pairing two custom-tuned 2.75-inch full-range drivers with a dedicated forward-firing 3.5-inch subwoofer, as reported by Razer and Gamers.at. The system delivers up to 40W RMS and 60W peak output when connected to a compatible 30W or higher USB-C power source, reaching a frequency response down to 45 Hz.
To optimize acoustics, the satellite speakers utilize an angled desktop design meant to project sound directly toward the listener’s ear level. The setup also includes 7.1 virtual surround sound to widen the spatial soundstage for games, movies, and music. For illumination, the model utilizes a rear-projection Razer Chroma RGB system that casts ambient color across 16.8 million options onto the wall behind the desk, featuring reactive lighting effects compatible with more than 300 games.
Razer Mako X Offers Compact 2.0 Design
The Mako X utilizes the same 2.75-inch full-range drivers, delivering up to 30W RMS and 45W peak output with a frequency response reaching down to 60 Hz when plugged into a 30W or higher USB-C source, though it can also operate on standard USB power up to 15W.
The Mako X features a 10-zone Razer Chroma RGB underglow rather than a wall projection, creating a subtle layer of light beneath the hardware. Both the Mako and Mako X support USB-C for single-cable power and audio transmission, alongside Bluetooth 5.3 and 3.5 mm auxiliary inputs.
