ASUS ROG is pushing competitive display hardware into uncharted territory with a pair of 24.5-inch
ASUS ROG is pushing competitive display hardware into uncharted territory with a pair of 24.5-inch esports monitors, though stark disparities in regional availability and pricing are already dividing global markets.
Pushing Limits at 720Hz and 540Hz
At the top of the new lineup sits the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, a flagship machine delivering an astonishing 720Hz refresh rate at a native 1920×1080 resolution. According to hardware announcements covered by BornCity and detailed by ASUS Global, the panel pairs that velocity with a 0.02ms response time and high-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 connectivity running at 80Gbps. Right beside it in the catalog stands the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace, which caps its performance at a still-towering 540Hz while utilizing DisplayPort 1.4 DSC.
Inside the TrueBlack Glossy Tandem WOLED Panels
Beneath the extreme refresh speeds, both monitors rely on TrueBlack Glossy Tandem WOLED technology. ASUS ROG reports that these panels yield up to 31 percent higher brightness, a 34 percent larger color volume, and up to a 63 percent longer lifespan compared to standard WOLED screens. Visually, the hardware hits a peak HDR brightness of 1,700 cd/m², a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, 99.5 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, true 10-bit color depth, and precise color accuracy rated at Delta E<2.
A Historic Tournament Debut for OLED in Counter-Strike
The elite hardware is already finding a grand stage. PGL has chosen the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace as the official monitor for the upcoming PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, marking a milestone as the first Counter-Strike Major tournament to adopt OLED displays for competitive play.
To support high-stakes competition, the flagship introduces a Position Sensor that translates physical stand adjustments straight into the On-Screen Display, enabling players to dial in exact angles and heights. Both models pack a Quick OSD Menu, Hue Optimizer 6-axis color controls, and three dedicated Esports Color Modes. To combat hardware degradation, cooling relies on a GaNFET thermal management solution to lower burn-in risks. This is further supported by OLED Care Pro features, including a Neo Proximity Sensor with adjustable motion sensitivity and an auto-away timer, with ASUS backing both units with a three-year warranty explicitly covering OLED burn-in.
Sharp Contrasts in Regional Rollouts and Pricing
Buyers in the Philippines will see the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace arrive in December 2026 carrying a recommended retail price of 90,000 Philippine pesos, followed by the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace in 2027 at 55,000 Philippine pesos. Just across the region in Malaysia, however, release schedules and product availability fracture entirely: the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace is scheduled for a January 2027 launch at an introductory price of 3,850 Malaysian ringgit, while the 720Hz flagship model will not be sold in that market at all.
