Rothenfelde Women Find Confidence Through Wig Sharing
ROTHENFELDE, GERMANY - Two women from Rothenfelde are empowering others facing hair loss by openly sharing their experiences wiht wigs and fostering a supportive community. Ramona Schlüter and Manuela Imrail, both navigating hair loss for different reasons, are encouraging others to embrace wigs as a means of regaining self-assurance.
For Imrail, who lost her hair at age twelve, and Schlüter, who began experiencing hair loss at seventeen, the journey to acceptance wasn’t easy. Both initially retreated from activities thay enjoyed – Imrail from social situations, and Schlüter from swimming – due to fear of judgment. however, Schlüter found renewed confidence through swimming caps, eventually leading her back to her hobby, while Imrail gradually embraced wigs. “It is as it is and you internalize it at some point,” Schlüter explained, reflecting on the growing self-acceptance they both experienced.
The pair acknowledge the vulnerability that comes with revealing wig use, particularly in new relationships. “You look very different,” Schlüter notes, voicing a common concern.Imrail adds, “And I don’t really feel like a woman without a wig.” Despite these anxieties, both emphasize that their core selves remain unchanged, a sentiment echoed by their close friends.
Schlüter and Imrail hope their openness will inspire others, particularly those undergoing chemotherapy or experiencing hair loss due to illness. “Everything can be mastered with the right surroundings,” Schlüter stated. “You don’t need to be afraid.” They aim to demonstrate that regaining confidence is absolutely possible, even in the face of critically important personal challenges.A related story features Leonie kalin, 23, from Lingen, who also experienced complete hair loss due to a rare disease, as reported by Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung.
