Man Charged Over Disturbing Child Abuse Images
Children allegedly bound with tape, man points gun in photos
Police have charged a 44-year-old man following a disturbing discovery of child abuse material. The man is accused of staging distressing photos depicting two three-year-olds bound with duct tape while he allegedly brandished a firearm.
Probe Uncovers Disturbing Evidence
Authorities apprehended the suspect last week during an investigation into illegal weapons and drug activity at his property in Emerald, central Queensland. A search of his home led officers to his mobile phone, where they reportedly found the shocking image.
The alleged images captured two toddlers, known to but not related to the man, bound with tape. Police claim the man was also pointing a firearm at the children and had distributed the photograph to others.
Weapons and Other Charges
The man faces multiple serious charges, including unlawful possession of firearms, dangerous conduct with a weapon, and two counts of deprivation of liberty. Police also confirmed the seizure of handguns from his residence.
He has been released on strict bail conditions and is scheduled to appear in Emerald Magistrates Court on August 26.
Separate Child Abuse Allegations Surface
In an unrelated case, a 59-year-old man has been arrested and charged with supplying dangerous drugs and child sexual abuse. Police allege he provided illicit substances to a child and committed rape against them between June and July.
These grave allegations were brought to the attention of law enforcement by vigilant members of the community.

Community Reporting Praised
Detective Sergeant Dylan Brook commended the public for their bravery in reporting these incidents. “The Emerald police are committed to supporting victims of sexual abuse with compassion and work diligently and tirelessly to hold offenders accountable through the court system,” he stated.
The 59-year-old man has been charged with grooming a child under 16, rape, supplying dangerous drugs to a minor, and breaching bail. He has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in Emerald Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
