BREAKING: Sony releases Limited-Edition Blue DualSense Controller, Initially Exclusive to Four Countries
NEW YORK, NY - Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a new “icon Blue” Special Edition DualSense wireless controller for the PlayStation 5, but initial availability will be limited to the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Chile.
The controller, inspired by PlayStation’s signature blue hues, will launch in the US and Canada on October 20th, followed by Mexico and Chile on October 28th. Sony has not yet indicated plans for a wider global release. The controller will retail for $84.99.
“Inspired by PlayStation’s iconic Shades of Blue, this design inspires anticipation and surprise every time you pick up a controller,” explained Leo Cardoso of Sony’s Color, Materials and Finishes design team. “With the consent of our informant, we added the katakana characters after our name with the Japanese word Purizutson.”
alongside the new controller, Sony is also releasing a range of PlayStation-themed merchandise in the US, including:
* Astrobot Lunch Box: A lunch box featuring a dynamic, expressive Astrobot face.
* PlayStation Jersey: A baseball-inspired jersey with a large PlayStation logo on the back.
* New Ellie Mini Backpack: A specially designed mini backpack for fans.
* Metal Meltz Figure: Metallic reimagining of culture Fly’s Meltz figures, including vehicles.
* Monogram Backpack Clip: figural backpack clips featuring characters from Astrobot, Ratchet & Clank, and God of War.
Pricing for the merchandise has not yet been confirmed. Gamers interested in the blue DualSense controller will need to wait a few weeks for availability.
