PS Plus Essential lineup Draws Criticism from Subscribers
PlayStation owners are voicing strong disapproval of November 2025’s PlayStation Plus essential games, with a recent poll revealing 62% of nearly 3,500 Push Square members deem the selection “underwhelming.” A notable 39% whent further, describing the lineup as “crap.”
The November offering includes Stray, EA Sports WRC 24, and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Despite Stray and EA Sports WRC 24 receiving respectable Metacritic scores of 83 and 80 respectively, a striking 53% of respondents indicated they were looking forward to none of the three titles. This negative reaction follows a period of generally positive reception for PS Plus Essential games, with September 2025’s selection statistically ranking as the best in the last four years, according to data analyzed by Push Square.
The discontent appears rooted in subscriber preference for high-profile, recently released AAA games over niche autonomous titles.Push square notes that Stray was previously available as part of the PS Plus Extra tier, adding to the disappointment for Essential subscribers. Despite the criticism, Push Square maintains that PS Plus Essential continues to offer good overall value.
