Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom this week for a series of charitable engagements and to commemorate the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The Duke of Sussex, 40, who resides in California with his wife Meghan and their two children, arrived on Monday and visited Windsor Castle, where he laid a wreath and flowers at the King George VI Memorial Chapel in memory of the late Queen, according to a spokesperson for the Sussexes.
He then attended the Wellchild Awards in London on Monday evening, an annual event supporting seriously ill children and their families – a charity he has supported for 17 years.
It remains unclear whether Prince Harry will meet with King Charles III during his visit. Buckingham Palace has not commented on the possibility of a meeting. King Charles III is currently at Balmoral in Scotland, continuing his summer holiday and receiving ongoing cancer treatment, with no public engagements scheduled for either him or Queen Camilla next week.
Prince Harry and king Charles last met in February 2024, shortly after the King’s cancer diagnosis, when the Duke traveled to the UK to visit him. The Duke’s previous visit to the UK was in April, during which he publicly addressed concerns regarding his security arrangements.
