Leadville, Colorado – August 10, 2025 – The 2025 Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race concluded today with thrilling finishes and a new course record. Howard County’s Kate Courtney dominated the women’s field, while veteran rider Jeremy Swenson secured the men’s title, though narrowly missing the course record.

Swenson completed the grueling 100-mile course in 5 hours,45 minutes,and 35 seconds,winning the race but falling just two minutes short of the record. Despite a strong effort, he couldn’t overcome a challenging headwind in the final miles. France’s Stéphane Gaston finished second, and Switzerland’s Urs Pellaud rounded out the men’s podium in third place.

Courtney delivered a commanding performance, riding solo from the ascent up Columbine Pass. She crossed the finish line in 6 hours, 48 minutes, and 55 seconds, shattering the previous course record of 6:59:00 set by Annika Langvad of Denmark in 2015 by over 10 minutes. Meilsa Rollins of the United States secured second place with a sub-7-hour time of 6:59:16.

The women’s podium saw a shakeup following a disqualification.Lauren Stephens initially finished third,but was later disqualified for accepting aid outside of designated crew zones,as per race regulations. This promoted Cecily Decker to the third position.

The Leadville Trail 100, held annually in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, is renowned as one of the most challenging mountain bike races in the world. The course climbs over 12,000 feet, traverses rugged terrain, and tests riders’ endurance and skill. The race attracts both professional and amateur cyclists from around the globe, with over 1,500 participants registered for the 2025 event. The event also serves as a meaningful economic driver for the town of Leadville, bringing in tourism revenue and showcasing the area’s natural beauty.
