Police Truck with Faulty Brake Light Caught on TikTok – Investigation Launched

Police Launch Internal Probe After TikTokVideo Exposes Vehicle Violation

ALOR SETAR, Sept 7 – The Kota Setar police​ are investigating‍ after a Toyota Hilux truck from ‍the Kepala Batas police station was filmed⁢ with a faulty brake light ⁢while‌ traveling through Alor Setar. A viral TikTok video prompted the internal review.

Kota ‍Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti nor Salawati saad confirmed the 13-second video shows the truck passing the Bunga Tanjung traffic lights shortly after midnight yesterday.She stated the vehicle was​ transporting roadblock⁣ equipment ⁢at the time.

“The vehicle ⁢was transporting⁣ roadblock equipment ⁣with its left ‌rear brake light not functioning,” she said in a Facebook statement.

The incident is ⁢being investigated​ under ‌Rule 92, LN 170/59, regarding improperly secured loads, which carries​ a potential compound fine of up to RM300. additionally, the vehicle⁤ faces a RM100 compound for the ​faulty brake light,⁣ according to⁢ Rule 26(2), LN 170/59.

Police‍ are requesting any​ witnesses to the incident to⁢ contact the‌ kota Setar Traffic Police Station,​ or Investigating‍ Officer Inspector Mohd Lukmanul‍ Hakim Mohd Fauzi at 013-9964614 ‍or 04-7321222.
