Police Launch Internal Probe After TikTok Video Exposes Vehicle Violation
ALOR SETAR, Sept 7 – The Kota Setar police are investigating after a Toyota Hilux truck from the Kepala Batas police station was filmed with a faulty brake light while traveling through Alor Setar. A viral TikTok video prompted the internal review.
Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti nor Salawati saad confirmed the 13-second video shows the truck passing the Bunga Tanjung traffic lights shortly after midnight yesterday.She stated the vehicle was transporting roadblock equipment at the time.
“The vehicle was transporting roadblock equipment with its left rear brake light not functioning,” she said in a Facebook statement.
The incident is being investigated under Rule 92, LN 170/59, regarding improperly secured loads, which carries a potential compound fine of up to RM300. additionally, the vehicle faces a RM100 compound for the faulty brake light, according to Rule 26(2), LN 170/59.
