Former Digital Marketing Executive Now a Sought-After Photographer
PARIS – Rodolphe Debyser, a former digital marketing director, has rapidly established himself as a respected photographer, attracting clients from the cosmetics industry, French and international press, and a prestigious Parisian jeweler located on Place Vendôme. Just two years after launching his photography career, Debyser’s work is in demand for editorial shoots, catalog production, and upcoming exclusive sales.
Debyser’s success stems from a unique approach to portraiture, focusing on capturing authentic moments of vulnerability from his models. “It’s a job to direct them. I’m always looking for the moment when they’ll let go. They’ll let something very personal slip through. It’s a photo within the photos. It makes for super shots,” he explained. He also emphasizes the importance of accurately representing diverse skin tones, noting, “Caucasian skin doesn’t light up like Black or Asian skin. Black skin is great to work with but it’s very, very challenging. There’s a complexion and tone that shouldn’t be altered.”
Debyser credits a connection made through an international model for helping build his initial client base. He recently completed a project for the unnamed Place Vendôme jeweler, producing approximately forty photographs for a catalog refresh. The collaboration arose after the model he previously worked with recommended him to the jeweler when they sought a photographer.
Looking ahead, Debyser is preparing to photograph high-end products for private sales and is slated to work with both an international cosmetics brand and French women’s magazines.
