Human Remains Found in Philadelphia Linked to Disappearance of Kada Scott, Suspect in Custody
PHILADELPHIA - Human remains were discovered behind a middle school in Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 15, 2025, and have been identified as those of Kada Scott, 23, who had been missing since late September. The discovery came after the arrest of 21-year-old Keon King, who is currently charged with kidnapping for ransom, false imprisonment, stalking, recklessly endangering another person, and tampering with evidence in connection with Scott’s disappearance. As of Sunday morning, October 20, 2025, King has not been charged in Scott’s death.
scott was last seen on September 23, 2025. Police located a 1999 toyota Camry believed to be connected to the case in the parking lot of a school. Items belonging to Scott, including her phone case and debit card, were found near the vehicle.
King was initially arrested last week. He had previously faced kidnapping charges stemming from a January incident where he allegedly stalked and abducted a woman from her home, assaulting her in his car. A portion of that incident was recorded and posted to TikTok following his initial arrest. Those charges were withdrawn in may after the victim failed to appear in court on multiple occasions, but were refiled on tuesday following King’s arrest in Scott’s disappearance.
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner acknowledged shortcomings in the handling of the initial case against King. “We could have done better in that. A really sophisticated approach to the case would have been to try to put it all in with video evidence,” Krasner told WPVI.He also noted that King’s release on $200,000 bail (10% posted) in the first case contributed to the victim’s fear of testifying.
King is currently being held on $2.5 million bail.Scott had represented Philadelphia Township in the 2025 Miss Pennsylvania USA Beauty Pageant.
