New Car Sales in Czechia Surge in First Quarter-But One Top Brand Faces Sharp Decline
New passenger car registrations in the Czech Republic rose by 4.6% during the first four months of the year.
According to data released by the Association of Importers of Motor Vehicles, a total of 53,253 new vehicles were registered in the country during this period. This increase in overall volume indicates a growth trend in the domestic market for the start of the year.
Market Distribution and Brand Performance
The distribution of these registrations shows a concentration of market share among the leading manufacturers. Škoda Auto and Hyundai maintained their positions at the top of the rankings, continuing to lead the volume of new car sales in the region.

However, the growth in the general market was not uniform across all brands. Toyota, which currently holds the third position in the market rankings, experienced a significant slump in its registration numbers. This decline contrasts with the overall upward trajectory of the passenger car sector during the first four months.
The data provided by the Association of Importers of Motor Vehicles serves as the primary benchmark for tracking these shifts in consumer behavior and brand dominance within the Czech automotive landscape.
The Association of Importers of Motor Vehicles continues to monitor and report these registration figures as the market progresses through the remainder of the year.
