by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

New Balance will launch an “International Baseball Collection” of footwear on February 26, 2026, coinciding with the World Baseball Classic, the athletic apparel company announced Monday. The collection features designs inspired by players from several nations competing in the tournament, including the United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, South Korea, and Japan.

The capsule includes models such as the Lindor v3 and the Ohtani v1, alongside performance silhouettes like the 3000 v7, 4040 v8, and Velo v4. Each pair incorporates colors and symbols representing the athletes’ national heritage. New Balance athletes featured in the collection include Francisco Lindor (Puerto Rico), Cal Raleigh (United States), Jose Altuve (Venezuela), Jeremy Pena (Dominican Republic), and Ha-Seong Kim (South Korea).

A Signature Collection dedicated to Shohei Ohtani will also be released, encompassing both cleats for play and lifestyle footwear for training and leisure. This collection acknowledges Ohtani’s unique skillset as a two-way player, excelling as both a pitcher and a hitter.

Availability of the International Baseball Collection will begin on NewBalance.com. Styles inspired by the United States will have limited availability. The launch is part of a broader New Balance strategy to increase its presence in the global baseball market, leveraging the visibility of the World Baseball Classic and its international athlete ambassadors.

The 2026 World Baseball Classic will be held from March 5th through March 17th, with games scheduled in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Houston, Texas; Tokyo, Japan; and Miami, Florida, according to MLB.com. Team USA will be led by Yankees superstar Aaron Judge, who will serve as captain for his first WBC appearance. The United States won the event in 2017, even as Japan secured the championship in 2023, defeating the U.S. In the final game played in Miami. Samurai Japan will attempt to defend their title and win their fourth WBC since the tournament’s inception in 2006.

Single-game tickets for the 2026 World Baseball Classic are currently on sale, with games scheduled to be played at loanDepot park in Miami, as reported by Ticketmaster.
