Rapper Nekfeu faces Judicial Investigation Following Allegations of Violence and Harassment
Paris, France – French rapper Nekfeu is now subject to a judicial investigation following repeated accusations of rape, violence, and harassment made by his ex-partner. The decision, announced recently, shifts the case into a more rigorous legal framework, allowing for a detailed examination of evidence presented by both sides.
The investigation will focus on verifying the authenticity of documents submitted by the ex-partner and “cleaning up everything that has been said…in the press and on the networks for too many months,” according to sources familiar with the proceedings.
This progress follows a series of complaints filed by the ex-partner as 2023, all of which were initially dismissed by prosecutors between September 2023 and May 2024. Nekfeu was briefly taken into police custody last week after a new complaint mirroring the previous allegations was filed. He publicly responded in November 2024, alleging “malicious intentions” and claiming the accusations stemmed from a dispute over custody of their son.
The plaintiff’s lawyers, William Bourdon, Rebecca Royer, and Hannah Kopp, hailed the opening of the judicial investigation as a “logical decision” given the ”heavy charges” against Nekfeu. They have also previously criticized what they described as an “atypical” and asymmetrical approach by authorities, highlighting the disparity in treatment between the serious allegations against the rapper and the ex-partner’s actions.
Adding another layer to the complex case, the ex-partner was sentenced on March 19, 2025, to a two-month suspended prison sentence for failing to present their child on multiple occasions in 2024. She is appealing the decision, with a retrial scheduled for January 7, 2026, concerning similar incidents between April and June of the same year.
Nekfeu’s defense team stated they believe the investigation will “reestablish the truth” after a period of intense media scrutiny. The Paris prosecutor’s office has declined to comment on the opening of the judicial investigation.
This case continues to unfold amidst a highly publicized and contentious battle between the two parties, raising questions about the handling of domestic violence allegations and the role of media coverage in legal proceedings.
