Miramas Sewing Fair: Vintage Fabrics & Crafts Sale – March 1st

A local association in Miramas is preparing to host its 13th annual vintage textile and flea market this weekend, offering a space for both sellers and enthusiasts of sewing and creative crafts.

The event, organized by L’Aguio e lou Fieu, will seize place on Sunday, March 1st, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Salle des fêtes Tristani. According to Geneviève Simon, the association’s assistant secretary, the market aims to be “a space dedicated to the treasures of our wardrobes, where everyone can find or share unique pieces, while celebrating our sewing heritage.”

Visitors can expect to find a wide array of materials and tools for textile arts, including fabrics, threads, needles, buttons, ribbons, lace, beads, patterns, yarn and more. The market will also feature demonstrations of a specialized craft: the creation of Arlesian ribbons by “découparelles,” skilled artisans who cut and shape velvet ribbons.

L’Aguio e lou Fieu was established in 1989 and has become a significant presence in the local arts and crafts community. Under the leadership of its president, Anne-Marie Marcon, the association has focused on sharing skills and supporting charitable causes through the sale of handmade items. The association also offers opportunities for knitters, embroiderers, lace makers, and other craftspeople to connect and exchange ideas.
