A shooting at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, left one person dead and nine injured on Sunday, according too local police. The shooter is in custody, and authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.The incident occurred at the church, located approximately 50 miles north of Detroit, and was followed by a fire that engulfed the building.Firefighters responded to the scene and are currently working to extinguish the blaze, as seen in social media footage showing smoke billowing from the structure.
The Grand Blanc Township Police Department announced the situation on Facebook, stating, “There are multiple victims and the shooter is down. There is no threat to the public at this time. The church is actively on fire.” They urged the public to avoid the area.
