former NFL Quarterback Mark Sanchez Arrested Following Indianapolis Incident
Indianapolis, IN – Former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst mark Sanchez was arrested Saturday by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) following an incident that left him and another adult male injured.Sanchez faces charges of battery with injury,unlawful entry of a motor vehicle,and public intoxication.
according to IMPD, officers arrested Sanchez at the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. Police stated the incident stemmed from a “physical disturbance” early Saturday morning, resulting in lacerations to one man and injuries consistent with stab wounds to the other.Detectives believe the incident was isolated between the two individuals and not a random act of violence.
Sanchez was in indianapolis to cover Sunday’s game between the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders for Fox Sports.He had attended the Colts’ practice Friday prior to the incident.
Fox Sports released a statement confirming sanchez was injured and is in stable condition, expressing gratitude for the medical care he is receiving. The network has not yet responded to further inquiries.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will ultimately determine the final charges against Sanchez, who has not yet been booked into jail, according to IMPD.
Sanchez, a No. 5 overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft, played nine seasons in the league with the New York Jets, Philadelphia eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and Washington before joining Fox as a game analyst in July 2021.
The New York Jets shared a message of support on X (formerly Twitter) following reports of Sanchez’s hospitalization, stating, “Sending our thoughts and love to Mark Sanchez and his family. Hoping for a speedy recovery, 6.”
