LiveMode Expands Beyond Brazil, Launches Free 2026 World Cup Coverage in Portugal
LISBON, PORTUGAL - Brazilian sports agency LiveMode is extending its innovative digital broadcasting model to Portugal with the launch of LiveModeTV next year. The new channel will offer free, live coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on YouTube, showcasing 34 matches including every game featuring the Portuguese national team.
This marks LiveMode’s first international expansion following the successful 2022 debut of CazéTV in Brazil, a platform quickly becoming known for its disruptive, youth-focused approach to sports broadcasting.
LiveModeTV intends to replicate CazéTV’s success by democratizing access to major sporting events through a digital-first strategy. Coverage will feature a blend of former soccer players, popular content creators, and Portuguese commentators, all geared towards an “authentic, irreverent and relatable language with fans,” according to LiveModeTV. The channel aims to foster a strong community beyond simply viewing live broadcasts.
LiveMode’s CazéTV has already secured broadcasting rights for meaningful tournaments including the 2022 World Cup, the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup – streamed via YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and Samsung TV+. Earlier this year, CazéTV secured rights in Brazil for both the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Women’s World Cup, and also extended its deal to broadcast live matches from the german Bundesliga.
The success of CazéTV is rooted in its ability to reach younger audiences through wide distribution and interactive presentation, capitalizing on a Brazilian sports media landscape ripe for disruption. LiveMode hopes to translate this model to Portugal, offering free access and encouraging audience participation across multiple platforms.
