Late NFL star Pat Tillman’s brother to undergo mental competency test before trial over crash

A man identified as Richard Tillman, the brother of former NFL player Pat tillman, was arrested after allegedly driving a vehicle into the San jose Police Department’s public records office and setting it on fire.The incident occurred on Tuesday morning.

Tillman reportedly remained at the scene and continued to livestream the unfolding events on YouTube while being questioned by law enforcement. The San Jose Fire Department responded to the blaze and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Following the arrest, Kevin tillman, another brother, issued a statement indicating that Richard Tillman had a long history of severe mental health issues. The family expressed relief that no one was harmed and noted the difficulty in obtaining adequate care for Richard, suggesting the event was not entirely unexpected given his struggles.

Pat Tillman, a prominent figure who left his career with the Arizona Cardinals to serve in the U.S. military after the September 11th attacks, was killed in Afghanistan in 2004 at the age of 27. The Tillman family has roots in the San Jose area.Kevin Tillman also pursued a military career, having previously played professional baseball for the Anaheim Angels.
