Jincheon Celebrates youth at 18th Future Friends Festival
Jincheon-gun, North Chungcheong Province, successfully hosted its 18th annual “Saenggeo Jincheon Future Friends Festival” on May 5th at Hwarang Park. Organized by the Jincheon Junior Chamber, led by Chairman Lee Han-ul, the festival aimed to provide a vibrant platform for youth to experience diverse cultural activities and showcase their talents.
The festival featured a wide array of attractions, including ten experience booths catering to youth interests in areas like beauty, crafts, and sports. Four promotional booths offered facts from organizations such as the local police station and youth counseling and welfare centers. Attendees also enjoyed a selection of food from three dedicated food booths.
A highlight of the event was the participation of the Woosuk University Jincheon RISE project team, who operated popular virtual reality sports and instant photo booths. Notably, youth were directly involved in staffing some of the booths, reinforcing the festival’s focus on being a youth-led event.
The stage program included energetic performances by the Nanta group “On Sae Miro” and the jump rope team “Jump Wings.” The main event, the “Youth Band and Dance Contest,” drew participation from a total of 18 teams, demonstrating a high level of skill. This year’s festival expanded its reach by opening participation to elementary school students, providing opportunities for a wider range of young people.
“We hope this festival will be a valuable opportunity to convey positive energy to young people and to create dreams and hopes,” stated a Jincheon-gun official. They added, “We will continue to develop the Youth Festival and expand their stage.”
