Jay-Z to Headline Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles
Jay-Z is scheduled to headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show, an event set for Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
That dynamic shifts next year. Since 2019, production of the Super Bowl halftime show has operated in partnership with Roc Nation.
Beyoncé Performs at Super Bowl XLVII
In 2013, Beyoncé stepped onto the Super Bowl XLVII halftime stage in New Orleans and delivered a career-spanning performance that, looking back, only hinted at how her approach to large-scale television broadcasts would evolve over the coming decade.
At Super Bowl XLVII, a third of the set time was dedicated to a Destiny’s Child reunion. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined for “Bootylicious” and “Independent Women Part I,” staying on stage for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” The set concluded with “End of Time,” “Baby Boy,” and “Halo.”
The 2016 “Formation” Surprise and FCC Complaints
The Super Bowl stage served as a launchpad for her music again in 2016.
During Coldplay’s halftime show at Super Bowl 50, Beyoncé made a surprise appearance, performing “Formation” with an army of dancers less than 24 hours after releasing the single. The performance drew nearly 50 pages of FCC complaints.

Catalog Expansion and the 2024 Beyoncé Bowl
That sequence began with the dance record Renaissance and continued with her country-infused project, Cowboy Carter. The latter record took center stage during the 2024 NFL Christmas Gameday halftime show, an event branded as the Beyoncé Bowl featuring guests Blue Ivy, Shaboozey, and Post Malone alongside nods to the Renaissance era.
The Roc Nation Era on the Halftime Stage
Since Roc Nation partnered with the NFL in 2019, the halftime stage has featured performances by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, the Weeknd, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Usher, and Bad Bunny, who became the first Latin artist to headline the show primarily in Spanish.
