Jay-Z to Headline 2027 Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show
“When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that JAŸ-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said after Apple Music, the NFL, and Roc Nation confirmed on Oct. 26, 2026, that the rapper will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CBS Sports reported via secondary coverage.
Goodell Secures a Long-Standing Ambition
The booking brings a long-standing ambition of the league’s leadership to reality. Goodell stated he asked the mogul to perform back in 2019 when the NFL first entered into its partnership with Roc Nation to oversee the entertainment production for the annual championship game. After spending much of 2026 marking three decades since the release of Reasonable Doubt with packed stadium performances globally, the timing finally aligned for the artist to accept the slot.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” JAŸ-Z said regarding the announcement.
Goodell added that he couldn’t be more excited for audiences worldwide to witness the cultural impact and creativity the headliner will bring to the venue.
Recent Tour Stops Set Stage for SoFi Stadium Performance
The halftime announcement arrives on the heels of a massive international anniversary run. The tour included stops in London and Paris featuring appearances by Wyclef Jean, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Timberlake. The celebration wrapped up with two nights at SoFi Stadium itself, welcoming guest artists such as Too $hort, John Legend, DJ Khaled, Blue Ivy Carter, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre.
Those West Coast arena dates closely mirror the location for Super Bowl LXI, setting up familiar regional energy for the upcoming 13-minute performance.
