Ja Morant to Miss Grizzlies-Spurs Game, Remains Out for Re-Evaluation
SAN ANTONIO, TX – December 2, 2025 – Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant will not play tonight against the San Antonio Spurs at Frost Bank Center, continuing his absence due to a right shoulder sprain. The team has not provided an update since initially announcing Morant would be re-evaluated in two weeks on November 20th.
Morant sustained the injury during a November 15th game against the Sacramento Kings, further depleting the Grizzlies’ already thin point guard rotation. the team is currently without Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe),Ty Jerome (calf),and Javon Small (toe) alongside Morant, forcing Vince Williams Jr. and Cam Spencer into expanded playmaking roles. Memphis recently signed kobe Bufkin to a 10-day contract on November 24th to bolster guard depth.
Thru 12 games this season,Morant is averaging 17.9 points and 7.6 assists. The Grizzlies’ record reflects his absence, standing at 4-8 when he plays and 5-4 in games he’s missed. Williams Jr. has stepped up in Morant’s place, averaging 9.6 points and 8.7 assists in seven starts, including multiple games with 15 or more assists.
The Grizzlies will continue to navigate thier challenging injury situation as they await further information on Morant’s recovery and potential return timeline.
