ITRI Names Dr. Pei-Zen Chang as New President
HSINCHU,Taiwan – The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) announced today the appointment of Dr.Pei-zen Chang as its new President, effective immediately. Dr. Chang succeeds previous leadership and will guide the internationally recognized R&D institution as it pursues aspiring goals in technological innovation and industrial transformation.
The appointment comes at a critical juncture for TaiwanS technology sector, as the island nation seeks to solidify its position as a global innovation leader. dr. Chang’s leadership will be instrumental in driving ITRI’s Strategy and Technological Roadmap 2035, focusing on advancements in Smart Housing, Quality Health, Enduring Surroundings, and Resilient Society. His experience in technology policy and R&D management positions him to accelerate ITRI’s impact on both high-tech and traditional industries.
Dr. Chang brings a distinguished academic and professional background to the role. He holds a PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Cornell University and a BS in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan university (NTU). Prior to becoming President, he served as executive vice president of ITRI, dean of the NTU School of Design, secretary-general of NTU, president of the Nanotechnology and Microsystems Association, and deputy executive secretary of the Science and Technology Group of the Executive Yuan. His research expertise encompasses mechatronic systems, industrial sensing, and digital technologies.
