iPhone 17e: A19 Chip, MagSafe & Faster Wireless Charging Expected

Apple is preparing to launch a new entry-level iPhone, the 17e, with several key upgrades, including support for MagSafe wireless charging and a new A19 chip. The launch is anticipated to occur imminently, potentially as soon as next week, according to multiple reports.

Even as details remain limited, the iPhone 17e is expected to feature magnetic MagSafe compatibility, enabling the use of accessories that attach to the back of the device. This upgrade also suggests an increase in wireless charging speeds to at least 15 watts, a significant improvement over the 7.5-watt support found in the iPhone 16e.

The core of the iPhone 17e will be an A19 chip, though it will be a slightly reduced configuration compared to the A19 found in other iPhone 17 models. This version of the A19 will be paired with 8GB of RAM. The inclusion of the A19 chip represents a performance boost for Apple’s entry-level iPhone, despite the memory configuration.

The forthcoming iPhone 17e is positioned as an accessible option within Apple’s smartphone lineup. The addition of MagSafe and the A19 chip are expected to enhance the user experience without significantly increasing the price point.
