Huawei smartwatch update brings new HRV feature to users

Huawei Watch D2 Gets Key Health and Style Upgrades

HarmonyOS 5.1 brings new features, starting in China

A significant software update is arriving for the Huawei Watch D2, enhancing both its health-tracking capabilities and user interface. The update, designated version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05), introduces innovative features to the wearable device.

Key Health Features

The latest software introduces a sleep average heart rate variability (HRV) metric. This addition assists wearers in gaining insights into their fatigue and stress levels. A new health summary app allows users to monitor patterns in metrics, delivering analysis of heart rate and stress. According to the American Psychological Association, long-term stress can contribute to heart issues (APA).

Customization and Convenience

Beyond health enhancements, the update brings new style options. A star ring app display joins existing Grid and Lists modes. Moreover, users can personalize their watch faces with presets like ‘Fashion Profile’ and ‘Universal Module’.

Enhanced Connectivity

For users who pair their Watch D2 with a Huawei smartphone operating on HarmonyOS 4 or later, the update provides real-time information directly on the watch. This includes updates such as flight status or food delivery tracking.

Initial Rollout

Currently, Huawei is initiating the rollout of software version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05) in China for Watch D2 users. The company has not yet announced plans for a global release of the update.
