HELMOND, Netherlands – A somber procession of approximately 500 individuals filled the streets of Helmond this afternoon, united in a silent tribute to 14-year-old Nina, a victim of bullying who tragically ended her life on April 1.

A Community in Mourning:

Holding candles, laying flowers, and sharing embraces, participants honored Nina’s memory following a minute of silence.
Bearing witness to the outpouring of grief, Omroep Brabant reported the procession culminated at the local Scouting building, a place where Nina had been involved for nearly a decade.

Knowing Nina personally,a peer expressed the collective sentiment: Very good that everyone came here to be there for her. So many people who want to stop bullying! We were friends at school and she was very sweet. I don’t know why people did this. why are people like that?
