Heidi Klum Stuns as Giant Severed Hand for 25th Annual Halloween Party
Heidi Klum wore a giant, bloodied severed hand costume for her 25th annual Halloween party in New York on Saturday, marking a quarter-century of the celebrity-studded event.
Transforming into a Severed Left Hand
Klum stated that she conceived the idea last year after looking at her own left hand and wondering if she could fit her body inside it. The elaborate ensemble featured long red nails, a thumb ring, her engagement ring and wedding band, and a tattoo of her husband Tom Kaulitz’s name on the ring finger alongside palm lines and veins. The top of the hand finished in a gory assortment of dangling ligaments and tendons, while Klum herself remained unrecognisable with only her eyes and mouth showing, blood dripping from her mouth as she stuck her tongue out.
The construction and execution of the look required significant effort. Klum noted that getting into the costume took approximately five to six hours, while carrying the heavy structure proved to be the hardest part. She was accompanied by an ensemble of helpers dressed in blood-stained hazmat suits. Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, missed the event due to tour commitments, though Klum remarked that a little bit of him was with her via the hand’s ring finger tattoo.
Celebrity Guests and Costumes in New York and London
The New York gathering drew a roster of notable attendees sporting their own elaborate outfits. Actress Zendaya appeared as Halle Berry, replicating the patterned bikini top and low-rise trousers Berry wore to the 2000 New York premiere of X-Men. Model Cara Delevingne paid tribute to the late actor Tim Curry by dressing as Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Reality television star Kourtney Kardashian and her husband Travis Barker arrived as Tony Montana and Elvira Hancock from the 1983 film Scarface, posing alongside a vintage convertible. Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka attended dressed as the twins from The Shining. Meanwhile, Maya Jama hosted her own Halloween party in London dressed as four-time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.

The event celebrated the 25th year of Klum hosting her party, a tradition featuring complex costumes over the decades. Her past appearances include a slithering worm costume in 2022 that required her to arrive on the end of a fishing line, Kali, the multiarmed Hindu goddess of death and destruction, a werewolf from Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video, an 8ft Transformer toy, a peacock, and the Greek mythological character Medusa. Alongside her own physical transformations, guests at the New York blue carpet included attendees recreating Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera’s 2003 VMAs performance, alongside a guest dressed as Miley Cyrus from Hannah Montana.
