hamas Issues Stark Warning to Israel, Releases Photo of Alleged Hostages
GAZA – september 20, 2025 - The Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, today released a photograph appearing to depict 47 Israeli hostages held in Gaza, accompanied by a forceful warning against an ongoing Israeli land operation. The release comes as tensions escalate dramatically in the region.
the photograph, circulated alongside a statement in both Arabic and Hebrew, reportedly reads: ”Netanyahu’s stubbornness and the surrender of Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir: A farewell photo with the start of the operation in the city of Gaza.”
Notably, the image includes the name of Ron Arad,an Israeli pilot who disappeared in Southern Lebanon in 1986. Israeli media reports indicate Arad was initially captured by the “Emel Movement” in lebanon and afterward transferred to Hezbollah between 1985 and 2000. However, former Hezbollah Secretary General Hasan Nasrallah stated in a 2006 television interview that his fate remains unknown, suggesting he is likely deceased or lost.
The release follows a statement issued by the Kassam Brigades on September 18th, responding to Israel’s launch of a ground offensive into Gaza. The statement directly addressed Israeli leadership, claiming, “Netanyahu decided to kill the Israeli prisoners with the plan of invading the city of Gaza…we say that the prisoners will no longer care about the life of the prisoners.”
The Hamas statement continued with a direct threat: “Gaza will not be an easy bite for yoru army. We are not afraid of you and we are ready to send your soldiers to hell. We have prepared for you the army of Mujahideen, thousands of ambushes and bombs. Gaza will be a grave for your soldiers.”
The statement further warned of intensified resistance, stating, “You are entering a hard war that will give you additional casualties. We trained our Mujahideen to place explosive devices in the cabins of your vehicles. Your bulldozer will be our main goal and the number of prisoners we have will increase.”
