Hamas Conducts Public Executions in Gaza Hours After Peace Treaty Signing with Israel
GAZA CITY – Hours after signing a phase one peace agreement with Israel, Hamas security forces carried out public executions targeting members of the al-Mughrabi clan, according to reports emerging from Gaza. The executions, which occurred Monday, October 13, 2025, reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 20 members of the clan, including women and children, and 12 Hamas militants, among them Bassem Naim’s son.
Hamas accused the al-Mughrabi clan of collaborating with Israel. Reports indicate Hamas militants utilized ambulances to access and raid the clan’s neighborhood.
“It’s a massacre. they’re dragging people away, children are screaming and dying, they’re burning our houses. What did we do wrong?” a daughter of a clan member told Ynet News.
The violence follows a statement by President Trump on Monday,October 13,2025,wherein he indicated he had granted Hamas authority to manage internal security in Gaza “as it sees fit” as part of the broader peace deal aimed at securing the release of remaining Israeli hostages.
“They [Hamas] do want to stop the problems, and they’ve been open about it, and we gave them approval for a period of time,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
However, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Trump vowed to disarm Hamas if the group failed to comply with the 20-point peace plan’s stipulations. “Well, they’re going to disarm as they said they were going to disarm, and if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them,” Trump stated while hosting Argentine President Javier Milei. “I don’t have to explain that to you, but if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them. They know I’m not playing games. Okay?”
The peace plan, signed October 8, 2025, requires Hamas to disarm and relinquish control of Gaza – demands the group has so far resisted. The recent executions raise serious questions about Hamas’ commitment to the agreement and the future stability of the region.
