Fraud in Braunschweig: Man Enriches Himself with €475,000 Through Corona Test Scam

A 28-year-old man⁤ has been arrested in ​Berlin following ​an examination⁣ into a billing fraud involving a Braunschweig Corona test‍ station, police announced. The suspect is accused of fraudulently ⁢obtaining​ approximately €475,000 through inflated billing practices.The‍ fraud came to light ⁢after discrepancies were discovered in submitted invoices. Authorities estimate an additional €390,000 in fraudulent ⁣claims were prevented from ​being paid out when⁣ the scheme was detected. The man subsequently fled to Turkey, prompting⁤ the ⁣Braunschweig district ‍court to issue an international arrest warrant. He re-entered Germany earlier this month and was apprehended at the Berlin airport,were he remains in custody.
