A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Berlin following an examination into a billing fraud involving a Braunschweig Corona test station, police announced. The suspect is accused of fraudulently obtaining approximately €475,000 through inflated billing practices.The fraud came to light after discrepancies were discovered in submitted invoices. Authorities estimate an additional €390,000 in fraudulent claims were prevented from being paid out when the scheme was detected. The man subsequently fled to Turkey, prompting the Braunschweig district court to issue an international arrest warrant. He re-entered Germany earlier this month and was apprehended at the Berlin airport,were he remains in custody.
