Russian Actress Aglaya Tarasova Detained on Drug Smuggling Charges at Moscow Airport
Moscow, Russia – Russian film and television actress Aglaya Tarasova, known for her roles in the popular series “Interns” and the 2017 film “Ice,” has been detained at moscow’s Domodedovo Airport and charged with drug smuggling, Russian media reported Friday.
Authorities allege that cannabis oil was found in Tarasova’s possession.According to a law enforcement source who spoke with the state-run TASS news agency,the substance was discovered within a vape cartridge. The RIA Novosti news agency reported the quantity of cannabis oil as 0.38 grams.
Investigators have requested that the Domodedovsky City Court place the 31-year-old actress under house arrest, as reported by the Kommersant business newspaper. If convicted of drug smuggling, Tarasova faces a potential prison sentence of up to seven years.
the exact date of Tarasova’s arrest remains unclear. Telegram channels linked to Russian law enforcement suggest the detention occurred “two days ago,” while media personality Ksenia Sobchak’s news outlet, Ostorozhno Novosti, claims she was apprehended on August 28th while attempting to pass through customs after arriving from Tel Aviv.
Tarasova is the daughter of actress Ksenia Rappoport, who has publicly voiced opposition to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
