Ferrari Unveils the “Amalfi” Coupe in Japan, Successor to the Roma

Following its world premiere in its namesake Italian coastal town, Ferrari has officially debuted its latest V8 coupe, the “Amalfi,” in Japan. This highly anticipated successor to the Roma model made its Japanese debut just four weeks after its initial unveiling in Italy, captivating press and enthusiasts alike.

The Ferrari Roma, launched in November 2019, was conceived as a luxurious 2+ coupe that captured the essence of italian “Dolce Vita,” drawing inspiration from the cinematic glamour of 1960s Italy. The new Amalfi continues this legacy, named after the picturesque port town in southern Italy renowned as a playground for European celebrities.
The Japanese launch event, held at Waters Takeshiba with a backdrop evoking the Hamarikyu Gardens, was transformed into a sensory experience of southern Italy. Lemon trees, a symbol of the Amalfi coast, adorned the venue, complemented by live music from “Amalfi Jazz,” underscoring the car’s Italian style and the enduring appeal of the Ferrari brand.
A Striking Entrance and Diverse Color Palette
Emmanuele Carando, Head of product Marketing from ferrari’s Maranello headquarters, graced the event to present the new model. The Amalfi itself made a dramatic entrance, driven onto a stage designed to resemble the charming streets of Amalfi by donato Romaniello, President of Ferrari Japan.
Showcased in a striking crimson Rosso Portofino,the Amalfi was also presented alongside other signature Ferrari hues,including Bianco Artico (white),Giallo Montecarlo (yellow),Grigio Abu Dhabi (silver),Rubino Micalizzato (ruby),and Violetto Dino (purple),offering a glimpse into the customization options available.
Ferrari describes the Amalfi as a “unique model that perfectly combines modern elegance and high performance.” Positioned as an evolution of the grand tourer concept, it aims to deliver exceptional performance alongside everyday usability.
