Fatal Head-On Collision Closes B410 Near Lissingen
Lissingen/Büdesheim, Germany – A driver died and three others were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision on the B410 between Lissingen and Büdesheim. The accident occurred around 3:00 p.m. when one vehicle crossed the centerline, triggering a direct impact with an oncoming car.
This tragedy underscores the ongoing risks associated with roadway navigation, especially on winding rural routes like the B410. The incident prompted a full closure of the highway for approximately eight hours as emergency responders worked to extract victims and investigators documented the scene. authorities are now appealing for witnesses to aid in determining the precise circumstances leading to the crash, as the investigation continues.
According to police reports, the vehicle traveling towards Büdesheim veered into the oncoming lane at the end of a left-hand curve. the resulting collision left the drivers of both vehicles and two passengers with serious injuries. Rescue helicopters and ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals. A third occupant of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
A third vehicle, positioned behind the accident site, sustained damage from debris but its occupants were uninjured. The B410 remained wholly closed to traffic until approximately 11:00 p.m.
